Lake Superior's beaches have got to be one of Ontario's best kept secrets. Today was a perfect sunny day, and as we bomb down a hill we look over to see long, white sandy beaches with 2-3ft waves rolling in. We pulled in and Sebastien and I went for a swim. It was so refreshing- have to make a note to do this more often. Dried out in the sun, then brushed off sandy feet and got back to riding. We're starting to get close to Sault Ste Marie and its famous bike shop. Getting pretty excited.
We camped at another provincial site, but somehow Raymond managed to find someone who would let us pitch with them, so camping was free the guy ended up being a young retiree who was driving to Vancouver before flying down to Panama to enjoy his retirement. Sebastien seemed ready for some time to himself, as he opted to get a separate camp site. After a few days of non-stop stories from Raymond, I am beginning to understand why.
